When Andrew Golota decided to pull out of his fight with Ray "The Rainman" Austin after the first round on Nov. 7 in Chengdu, China, some were quick to question his decision.  The attached photos of Golota's left arm, taken one week after the fight during a medical examination in Chicago, clearly shows the extensive damage caused by multiple tendon tears. Don King inducted into the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame

Don King was honored by the American Gaming Association with induction in the Gaming Hall of Fame at their 20th annual charity dinner and ceremony on Tuesday at the Red Rock Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas.

King has promoted dozens of historic boxing events in Las Vegas and Atlantic City that helped these tourism cities become two of the top destination resorts in the world.

King was joined by chef-proprietor Emeril Lagasse, fellow boxing promoter Bob Arum and riverboat gaming pioneer Bernard Goldstein, founder of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc.

King promoted or co-promoted 12 of the top 20 highest-grossing live gates in the history of the state of Nevada, including four of the top five. Six student veterans receive new Don King scholarships

University President Rodney H. Mabry announced the first recipients of the “Only in America” Don King scholarship on Aug. 29.

The six recipients were: senior Darrell Geisendorff; juniors Steven Harbaugh and Miguel Garcia; sophomores Adrian Lopez, Jack Adams and Daniel Gibson.

The new scholarship was announced in March 2008 and funded by proceeds from a R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center visit by King, a boxing promoter. The scholarship was designed to recognize the contributions of military men and women by providing scholarships to them or their dependents.
